Abstrakt: This article, titled "Outcomes Variance after Brain Arteriovenous Malformation Resection," discusses the challenges and controversies surrounding the treatment of brain arteriovenous malformations (bAVMs). The study compares the outcomes of single-surgeon and multi-surgeon series of microsurgically treated brain AVMs. The results show that overall outcomes are comparable between the two groups, but complication-associated variances are significantly higher in multi-surgeon series. This suggests that patient-level outcomes may be more accurately predicted by the prior results of the operating surgeon rather than aggregated outcomes from "big data" or other pooled analysis strategies.
