Abstrakt: This document is a response to a commentary on the guidelines for parenteral nutrition in preterm infants by the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. The authors address concerns raised by Dr. Liviskie and colleagues regarding the inclusion and interpretation of certain publications in the guidelines. They acknowledge that one study was not assessed in the guideline due to an oversight, but state that its inclusion would not have affected their decisions. They also make corrections to the analysis and forest plots based on the feedback received. The authors emphasize that their recommendations for the initial dose of amino acids were considered separately from the target maximal dose, and they believe that their recommended dosing strategy is appropriate based on metabolic principles. They acknowledge the need for more high-quality evidence in this area and commit to addressing concerns and promoting transparency. [Extracted from the article]
