Abstrakt: An experimental study of concrete cylinder and cube specimens using sand coated polypropylene coarse aggregate was carried out. Compressive strength tests were conducted to both shapes of specimens where the specimens are grouped to three water-cement ratios of 0.29, 0.287 and 0.255. It is found that both shapes of concrete specimens show the same behaviour where lower water-cement ratio gives higher compressive strength. The cylinder/cube compressive strength ratios are not constant but it is found dependent on the concrete compressive strength. An increase in compressive strength gives higher cylinder to cube strength ratio [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
