The article discusses the author's fear of downhill skiing and their efforts to overcome it. The author explains that they are naturally cautious and have a low tolerance for speed. They seek advice from ski coaches and friends, as well as mental strategies from a book, in order to improve their downhill technique. They ultimately find inspiration in the poker face of Belgian cyclist Wout van Aert and adopt a similar expression, which helps them become more confident and enjoy downhill skiing.
