A study conducted at the Federal University Sao Carlos in Brazil explored the long-term effects of photobiomodulation therapy (PBM) on blood pressure in obese rats induced by a high-fat diet. The researchers found that PBM, carried out three days a week, was able to prevent the increase in blood pressure caused by the high-fat diet. Additionally, PBM restored nitric oxide levels, decreased lipoperoxidation, and improved endothelial function in the rats.
