Cultivator is a tractor operated cultivating tool that plough the land by using shovels. In a cultivator shovels are the main critical parts that are used to make the land. Shovels interact with land in such a way that, they are subjected to impact and high friction that causes wear. Hence, it is important to design and optimize the shovel so that its durability is improved. The depth of theshovel depends on the geometry of the blade. This paper presents the use of CREO in designing and optimizing of shovel on the basis of finite element method. The working in present work was done based on geometric parameters such as angle with horizontal axis, tip length, width and radius of the shovel. The results reveals that shovel depth can be increased by increase in the tip length, angle with horizontal axis, radius of shovel. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
