Abstrakt: The Euphrates basin has been classified as a hotspot most vulnerable to climate change impacts, the Station of AL-Noorea located in AL-Qadisiyyah province in the Euphrates basin has been chosen to assess the predicted impact of climate change on the productivity of water and on the yield of winter wheat cultivated using the FAO model (Aqua-Crop). By applying projected data based on the SSPs5-8.5 emission scenario, over two horizons; near-term (2021-2040) and mid-term (2041-2060) from the reference period (1995-2014). The model was validated using experimental field data during the season (2020-2021). Based on the statistical factors, RMSE of 0.2 ton/ha, NRMSE of 6%, and Wilmot's index agreement (d) of 1 where indicated good model performance. Two concentrations of CO2 and two irrigation regimes were adopted. The results have revealed maximization of the projected water and yield productivity by using the improved irrigation schedule generated by AquaCrop under the increase of projected temperature over these horizons and frequently precipitation rates, compared to the use of traditional irrigation. Moreover, the trend of water and yield production have increased clearly toward the midterm (2041-2060) by about 21% and 16% respectively under the case of variable concentration of CO2 compared with the case of fixed CO2.
