A study published in the European Journal of Immunology describes the development of a murine model to study the progression of multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer of plasma cells. The model successfully mirrors the development of clinical multiple myeloma and demonstrates changes in the immune profile over time. The study highlights the involvement of immune cell subtypes in tumor immune escape and disease progression, providing insights for the development of novel immunotherapies.
