A study conducted by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania explores the effectiveness of using measurement-based care feedback systems in mental health services. The study specifically examines the impact of patient gender, race/ethnicity, and patient-therapist matching on gender and race/ethnicity on patient self-reported levels of functioning and trust/respect within the therapeutic relationship. The findings suggest that men showed greater improvement in functioning when therapists received trust/respect feedback compared to symptom-only feedback. Additionally, dyads matched on race/ethnicity or gender but not both showed greater improvement in functioning and trust/respect over time. The researchers recommend further research to enhance outcomes for patients with specific gender and racial/ethnic identities. [Extracted from the article] |
