This article presents a population-based study conducted in the Netherlands to investigate the prevalence and healthcare usage of patients with chronic urticaria (CU) in primary care. The study analyzed healthcare usage data from 200 general practitioners (GPs) and found that the annual point prevalence of CU ranged from 0.48% to 0.30% between 2010 and 2018. The median follow-up duration for CU patients was 1.5 years, and the study revealed relatively modest healthcare usage for CU in the general population. These findings provide valuable insights for counseling new patients with CU in both primary and specialist care settings. [Extracted from the article] |
