A recent study conducted at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center examined changes in the management of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) caused by checkpoint inhibitors. The study found that outpatient treatment and earlier specialty consultation led to improved outcomes for gastrointestinal irAEs. However, follow-up rates after hospital discharge remained consistently low. The findings of this study can help inform the development of management algorithms and policies in other institutions.
