Abstrakt: A study conducted at the University of Colorado implemented a novel electronic health records (EHR)-based workflow to improve the consultation process for vascular surgery patients in an acute setting. The workflow standardized and automated the process, resulting in a placement of a consult note 32 minutes faster and a 63.3% decrease in the time it took for urgent or emergent operations to be performed. The study suggests that this innovation can be disseminated across institutions to increase the value of care in vascular surgery and healthcare overall. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in the Annals of Vascular Surgery. [Extracted from the article]
