Abstrakt: A report from Aster MIMS Hospital in Calicut, India discusses the use of negative pressure wound therapy in the management of sternal wound dehiscence in newborns and children after cardiac surgery. The study found that three neonatal patients achieved healing of the sternal wound and subsequent closure after an average treatment period of 33 days. The researchers concluded that negative pressure therapy, combined with surgical debridement, was safe and effective for neonatal and infant patients with poststernotomy wound dehiscence. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in the journal Eplasty. [Extracted from the article]
