Abstrakt: This document is a reply to a letter to the editor regarding a study on bleeding risk during and after cesarean section in parturients who conceived using in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The study found that IVF and ICSI were not associated with an increased risk of bleeding during cesarean section. The authors address concerns raised by the letter, including the possibility of bias in the control group and the method used to assess blood loss. They state that appropriate exclusion criteria were used to control confounding and that efforts were made to match and adjust for potential confounders. The authors also note that preoperative hemoglobin levels were not investigated, so they could not use this method to determine blood loss in their study. The data supporting the findings of the study are available upon request from the corresponding author. The authors declare no competing interests. [Extracted from the article]
