A recent study conducted at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, examined the relationship between maternal complications and uterine artery Doppler measures in women with severe pre-eclampsia. The study involved 200 pregnant patients, with 100 in the case group (severe pre-eclampsia) and 100 in the control group (no pre-eclampsia). The researchers found that high-resistance uterine artery Doppler in the case group was associated with adverse postpartum outcomes such as eclampsia, renal failure, and blood transfusions. The study suggests that third-trimester uterine artery Doppler can be used to predict postpartum outcomes in women with severe pre-eclampsia. [Extracted from the article] |
