Abstrakt: Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have developed a biodegradable nanoparticle that shows promise for the imaging and treatment of breast cancer. The nanoparticle, called AgPCPP, encapsulates ultrasmall silver sulfide nanoparticles and can be used for near-infrared fluorescence imaging, photoacoustics, and photothermal therapy. The AgPCPP nanoparticles have been found to enhance the imaging and treatment of breast tumors in vivo, and they gradually break down into harmless byproducts, making them safe and biodegradable. This research offers potential for the clinical translation of the nanoparticle as a versatile theranostic agent for breast cancer. [Extracted from the article]
