A study conducted by investigators from Mass General Brigham analyzed the outcomes of the Acute Hospital Care at Home (AHCaH) program, which allows patients to receive acute medical care in their homes. The study found that home hospital care is a valuable care model for managing acute illness, including among socially vulnerable and medically complex patients. The study included 5,858 patients from across the United States and found low mortality rates and readmission rates for these patients. The findings suggest that home hospital care can reach a diverse group of patients and families. However, the study is limited to observational data, and further research is needed to compare outcomes to traditional hospitals. [Extracted from the article] |
