A researcher from Hamilton Health Sciences in Canada has published findings on the use of nutraceuticals to manage traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI). The study involved a pilot study with participants who had experienced TSCI at least one year prior to enrollment. The participants were treated with oral selenium and vitamin E for one year, and assessments were conducted before and after the intervention. The study found that the combination treatment was safe and showed potential for further evaluation in a larger clinical trial. The research suggests that MRI tractography may serve as a meaningful surrogate endpoint for evaluating the efficacy of the treatment. [Extracted from the article] |
