A recent study conducted by researchers at Central South University in China explores a new approach to treating giant femoral arteriovenous fistulas. These fistulas, which are rare, are typically treated with covered stents, coil embolization, or open surgical repair. However, these options may not be suitable for all patients. In this particular case, the researchers utilized a ventricular septal occluder device for fistula closure, which had not been previously reported. This innovative approach may provide an alternative treatment option for patients with similar conditions. [Extracted from the article] |
