Abstrakt: Researchers from the Nasser Institute Hospital for Research and Treatment in Egypt have conducted a retrospective case-control study to investigate potential predictors of multiple sclerosis (MS) progression. The study found significant associations between MS progression and factors such as smoking, vitamin D deficiency, disease duration, delay in MS diagnosis, unemployment, site and number of lesions, and number of black holes. The researchers concluded that MS secondary progression can be predicted among MS patients using exposure history, clinical assessment, laboratory findings, and radiological examinations. This information can help in early diagnosis and predicting the progressive course of the disease. [Extracted from the article]
