A recent study conducted at the University of Aleppo in Syria aimed to estimate the prevalence of brucellosis antibodies among hospitalized patients. The study found that among the 776 patients included in the study, the seroprevalence of brucellosis antibodies was 13.1%. The highest prevalence was observed among females, the middle-aged group (12-40 years), and patients with a history of brucellosis. The study highlights the significant challenges faced by the public health sector in Syria and emphasizes the importance of raising awareness about brucellosis and its risk factors.
