Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at "Titu Maiorescu" University examined the antimicrobial activity of two commercial toothpastes on gram-negative bacteria. The study found that both toothpastes had antimicrobial effects, but the toothpaste containing 8% arginine and 1450 ppm fluoride was more effective in reducing the number of filamentous gram-negative bacteria compared to the toothpaste containing 1100 ppm fluoride and 0.3% triclosan. The researchers collected dental plaque samples from 10 healthy subjects before and after tooth brushing and used Gram staining to identify bacterial genera. The findings suggest that tooth brushing with the toothpaste containing arginine and fluoride can help reduce bacterial load in the oral cavity. [Extracted from the article]
