Abstrakt: Researchers from Nantong University in China have conducted a comprehensive analysis of the role of histone acetyl transferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs) in human cancers. The study found that the expression of HATs and HDACs varied across different types of cancer, with HDAC10 and HDAC6 showing significant downregulation in most cancers. The abnormal expression of these enzymes was partially due to copy number variations and DNA methylation. The researchers also identified a five-gene signature that demonstrated prognostic significance in kidney cancer. The findings provide valuable insights into the regulation and potential therapeutic implications of HATs and HDACs in cancer. [Extracted from the article]
