Abstrakt: The article highlights the efforts of the Jamestown S'Klallam, a Native American tribe, their shellfish biologist Annie Raymond, in partnership with the Puget Sound Restoration Fund (PSRF), to preserve kelp in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Topics include the tribe's active involvement in creating a regional seed bank, the decline of bull kelp in Puget Sound over the last 50 years, and the development of a toolbox to address potential changes in kelp abundance for the nearshore marine ecosystem.
