This article discusses a rare case of an epidermoid cyst with cervical lymphadenopathy in a 20-year-old female patient. The patient experienced swelling at the base of the tongue, difficulty chewing and swallowing solid foods, and had a 4 cm sublingual enlargement. A computed tomography scan revealed a cystic mass in the floor of the mouth. The cyst was surgically removed, and histological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of an epidermoid cyst. The patient had no recurrence at the three-month follow-up. Epidermoid cysts in the head and neck region are uncommon, and the treatment is typically surgical. The article also provides information on the differential diagnosis and surgical techniques for sublingual cysts. [Extracted from the article] |
