Abstrakt: Without realizing it, many students experience pseudo-thinking in solving mathematical contextual problems. This study aims to describe the pseudo-thinking process experienced by students in integer contextual problems. The research design used is descriptive qualitative. Participants were 32 grade VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Surakarta. Data collection taken by using test techniques, interviews, and observations, were then analyzed and italicized. Data analysis consists of data reduction, presentation, and concluding/verification. The results showed the occurrence of false-pseudo-thinking. Students need help constructing mathematical concepts in contextual problems. The stage of reorganizing the pseudo-thinking structure is defragmenting by providing cognitive conflict, disequilibration, and scaffolding. The result of defragmenting is that students can understand contextual problems by placing mathematical concepts in a structured manner. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
