Abstrakt: This article presents information on clinical electrophysiology, tachyarrhythmias and defibrillators. Clinical, electrocardiographic, laboratory and genetic studies were performed in a family with 15 members. Familial sinus node disease was found in four half-brothers aged 40-57 years. In 3 of these, because of sinus arrest, a permanent pacing system was implanted. There was one sister who died at the age of 3 months. The father died at the age of 75 from a "cardiac attack." The following genetic investigations were undertaken: a) chromosomal studies; b) HLAantigen studies in the 4 full brothers (3 affected, 1 healthy). The karyotypes showed no numerical or structural chromosomal aberrations, nor any variants which could be related to the heart problem.
