Abstrakt: The study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of methanol crude extracts of different botanicals at various concentrations (0.5, 0.75, 1.00, 1.25 and 1.50%) against third instar larvae of Spodoptera litura (Fab.) and Helicoverpa armigera (Hub.) under laboratory conditions at the Biocontrol Research Laboratory, Department of Entomology, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh, India. The highest larval mortality was observed in methanol crude extract of neem, custard apple, pongamia, vitex and eucalyptus @ 1.50% with more than 80% and 70% against S. litura and H. armigera, respectively, after 72 hours of exposure. The results indicate that the methanol extract of these botanicals is an ideal eco-friendly approach for the management of the agricultural pests, S. litura and H. armigera. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
