Insects are important for the environment and for the human beings as well. Edible insects are used as food, some considered as delicacy and some used them for therapeutic purposes. Many traditional medicine practitioners use insects to treat various diseases as well. Some indigenous people serve many insect species as traditional foods. Edible insects give nutrition to the human health. Edible insects are delicious in taste and are nutritious as well. They are good source of amino acids, protein, carbohydrates, amino acids, various vitamins, fat and trace elements. Insects are available in wild and can be easily collected. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
