Biotechnology researchers are particularly interested in medicinal plants since they are the primary source of pharmaceutical chemicals used by the majority of the drug industry. Many compounds used as food colouring, flavourings, scents and biochemicals in medicine have historically come from plants, particularly in India. Asparagus racemosus is regarded as an important traditional medicinal plant. Ethanolic extract of Asparagus racemosus roots was made for this investigation, and using GCMS (Gas chromatography-mass spectroscopic analysis), the presence of numerous bioactive compounds in Asparagus racemosus was determined. The results of the present study upon GC-MS revealed presence of 46 substances. The ethanolic extract of Asparagus racemosus included a number of chemicals, including Oleic acid, n-hexadecanoic acid and octadecanoic, upon GCMS analysis. Therefore, because the ethanolic extract of Asparagus racemosus contains secondary metabolites, which may serve as anticancer, chemopreventive, anti-microbial, antioxidant and antidiabetic precursors. To determine the extract's active principle and to clarify its precise mode of action in different illnesses, more research is required. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
