The paper presents the results of research that are essential for the development of industry in the field of obtaining polymer materials using microwave technologies. Experimental confirmation of the hypothesis of the existence of non-thermal modifying microwave exposure has been carried out. A modification of polymer materials is proposed, which consists in creating a method for improving the quality of polymer materials based on the non-thermal effect of a microwave electromagnetic field. Synthetic polymers are of greater interest as an object of investigation of the effect of non-thermal microwave exposure. The influence of non-thermal microwave treatment modes on the basic physical and mechanical properties of polymer materials has been established. As a result of research, it was found that the effect of microwave EMF on the curing process of phenol-formaldehyde resin not only intensifies its curing process, but also leads to modification of its physical and mechanical properties.
