Abstrakt: The highly urbanized parts of Jabodetabek are still attracting biodiversity, among which are urban birds and vegetation, including an alien invasive Muntingia calabura. M. calabura is known as a fruit producer, flowering, and fruiting throughout the year, attracting many species of frugivores, although visits of frugivores and non-frugivores are not only for forages. We observed fruiting M. calabura across Jabodetabek and model each bird visit against vegetation quality, tree posture, and fruit production potential in GLMM modeling. We found that the strongest predictor for bird visit to fruiting M. calabura is not the forage production potential but the surrounding vegetation quality. The results signify that local vegetation quality plays an important role in the visit of urban birds and the potential of M. calabura as a forage provider may not be as high as previously predicted. This may serve as a recommendation of discouragement in planting M. calabura in an urban setting, as there are other native fruit tree selections available in urban tropical metropolitan areas such as Jabodetabek.
