The proposed article attempts to consider the concept of <«life values» using a probabilistic approach, which finds its reflection in understanding of «value» as a mechanism for identifying an individual with the basic structure of the world. The author defines «value» as a symbol of identification, a «transformed figure» of ontologically significant core of human spirituality. According to the author, the symbolic nature of identification, on one hand, indicates a common cultural foundation (shared with all spiritually significant formations) for «value,» and on the other hand, allows for the application of sociological methods to observe and describe this phenomenon.
