Abstrakt: This article discusses the relationship between breastfeeding promotion and admissions for neonatal jaundice (NNJ) in Hong Kong. The government and non-governmental organizations have made efforts to promote breastfeeding, resulting in increased breastfeeding rates. However, the study found that admissions for NNJ in infants aged 1-3 months have also increased during the same period. This suggests that prolonged breastmilk jaundice may be an unintended consequence of successful breastfeeding promotion. The authors recommend strengthening breastfeeding support and optimizing NNJ management to maximize the benefits of breastfeeding promotion. [Extracted from the article]
