Abstrakt: A study conducted at Moti Lal Nehru Medical College in Prayagraj, India, explored the association between autoimmune thyroiditis and coagulation profiles in patients without bleeding abnormalities. The study found that patients with overt hypothyroidism exhibited a hypocoagulable state, with decreased fibrinogen and factor VIII levels and increased D-dimer values. Conversely, patients with hyperthyroidism and subclinical hypothyroidism showed a hypercoagulable state. The study concluded that there is a deranged coagulation profile in autoimmune thyroiditis. Further research is needed to better understand this association. [Extracted from the article]
