Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Iowa explored the potential health benefits of consuming carnosine, a histidyl dipeptide, in relation to obesity and heart health. The study used a mouse model to investigate the effects of carnosine on cardiac remodeling and fibrosis associated with diet-induced obesity. The findings suggest that carnosine treatment may improve glycemic control and reduce fibrosis in the heart, potentially through its ability to suppress collagen cross-linking. This research provides insight into the therapeutic mechanisms of carnosine and its potential as a treatment for obesity-related heart complications. [Extracted from the article]
