Abstrakt: Background: Non-surgical treatment of sunken upper eyelid deformity with soft tissue fillers is a powerful tool to treat and correct this condition. However, few techniques have been properly described in the literature and it is usually reserved for expert injectors due to its complex anatomy and potentially serious complications. Herein, a simplified treatment-oriented classification is proposed and a technique for precise correction of sunken upper eyelid deformity is described in detail. Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study in which the data from patients treated for sunken upper eyelids was assessed. Overall clinical result with a follow-up of > 1 year (range 1–2 years) was the primary outcome studied. Results: From January 2018 to January 2022, a total of 120 patients and 235 upper eyelids were treated. Average volume of filler used per upper eyelid was 0.8 cm3 (0.2–1.5 cm3) per side. Overall patient satisfaction was high; no serious adverse events were documented. Conclusions: Adoption of the treatment technique herein described may aid practitioners for precise placement of the fillers in specific anatomical spaces according to the type of deformity and to achieve optimal results while reducing complications. Level of evidence: Level IV, Therapeutic Study. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
