In this work, the possibility of obtaining ZnFe2O4/ZnO nanoparticles by electric explosion of zinc and iron wires in an oxygen-containing atmosphere has been shown. Using the obtained nanoparticles and polymethyl methacrylate, ZnFe2O4/ZnO/PMMA composite containing from 0.5 to 10 wt % of nanoparticles was obtained. The composite film suppressed the viability of E. coli bacteria with an efficiency of 99.99%, which was due to the generation of reactive oxygen species. The synthesized composite material with long-term high antibacterial activity is promising for the production of antimicrobial materials for medicine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
