This article presents a study on the tert-butylation reaction of amino acids, carboxylic acids, and alcohols using bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (Tf2NH) as a reagent. The study found that this method resulted in faster reactions and higher yields compared to conventional methods. The authors suggest that this information could be valuable to synthetic organic chemists as an alternative to using perchloric acid, as it offers safer conversions and improved reaction rates and yields.
