This document is the guest editors' foreword for a special issue of the journal Discrete & Computational Geometry. The issue contains a selection of papers presented at the 38th International Symposium on Computational Geometry (SoCG 2022) held in Berlin. The ten papers included in this issue cover a broad range of topics and were chosen based on their strong support within the program committee. The papers explore subjects such as range query questions, geometric graph theory, persistent homology, closed geodesics, link diagrams, dimension reduction, the Hausdorff distance, dynamic connectivity, universal triangulation, and the Erdős–Szekeres theorem. The authors express their gratitude to the authors of the submitted papers, the anonymous referees, and the co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal for their contributions to this special issue.
