Abstrakt: A recent study conducted in the Russian Federation examined the effectiveness of a combination of transosseous osteosynthesis with intramedullary reinforcement using elastic titanium hydroxyapatite-coated rods (HA-rods) in the treatment of long bone fractures. The study analyzed the medical records of 40 patients with closed diaphyseal tibia fractures who underwent this treatment method. The results showed that the combination of external and internal fixation methods provided advantages such as preservation of blood supply, absence of soft tissue injury, joint function, and early weightbearing. The study concluded that this combined osteosynthesis technique reduced fixation time, stimulated bone callus formation, and prevented secondary bone fragment displacement.
