Abstrakt: A recent study conducted in Shenzhen, China, explored the use of conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) combined with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in predicting pelvic lymph node metastasis (PLNM) in cervical cancer patients. The study found that PLNM patients had significantly lower tumor apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values compared to non-PLNM patients. The combination of conventional MRI and DWI showed good diagnostic performance in detecting PLNM, with a sensitivity of 76%, specificity of 94.31%, and accuracy of 90.8%. The study also identified tumor ADC <0.95 x 10-3mm2/s, age <35 years old, increased tumor diameter on MRI, and vaginal vault involvement on MRI as independent predictors for PLNM.
