Abstrakt:	A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Jordan has identified the first case of Candida auris (C. auris) in Jordan. C. auris is a yeast that has been found in 41 countries, including several in the Middle East. The pathogen is concerning due to its resistance to antifungal drugs and its ability to form biofilms, which can compromise infection prevention measures in hospitals. The study emphasizes the need for active surveillance to identify high-risk patients colonized with C. auris and highlights the importance of understanding the susceptibility patterns of different strains of the pathogen for the development of preventive and therapeutic strategies.
