A recent report from the Mayo Clinic discusses the current management and future directions for pulmonary arterial hypertension associated with congenital heart disease (PAH-CHD). The report highlights that while current management strategies have improved the survival of patients with congenital heart disease into adulthood, there are still uncertainties regarding the long-term effects of medications on PAH-CHD patients. The aim of the review is to provide a summary of the current evidence and future perspectives on treatment strategies for PAH-CHD to guide the management of this complex disease.
