Researchers from the University of M'Sila conducted a study on the extraction of phenolic compounds from Juniperus oxycedrus L. and their antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-corrosive effects. Different extraction methods were used, and the results showed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, triterpenes, and steroids in the extracts. The ethanolic extract exhibited the highest antibacterial activity, particularly against Staphylococcus aureus. Additionally, the aqueous extracts effectively inhibited the corrosion of mild steel in a hydrochloric acid solution. This research provides valuable insights into the potential applications of Juniperus oxycedrus L. extracts in various fields. [Extracted from the article] |
