Abstrakt: | Researchers from Qatar University conducted a qualitative study to explore the value of problem-based learning (PBL) in the development of self-regulation among undergraduate dental students. The study involved five focus groups with a total of 37 participants, who expressed their views on various aspects of self-regulation in PBL and provided recommendations to enhance the learning experiences of students. The findings suggest that PBL is perceived as an appropriate and effective strategy to support student autonomy in knowledge construction and the development of problem-solving and interpersonal skills. However, the workload of students can negatively impact their motivation and time management skills. This research provides insights into the concept of self-regulation in PBL environments in a newly established dental institution. [Extracted from the article] |
