A recent study conducted by Zhejiang Sci-Tech University in Hangzhou, China, explored the effects of Tremella fuciformis polysaccharide on human chondrocytes, which are cells involved in osteoarthritis. The study found that the polysaccharide promoted the proliferation of chondrocytes without causing cytotoxicity. Additionally, it was observed that Tremella fuciformis polysaccharide and chondroitin sulfate reduced inflammation and inhibited the secretion of interleukin-6, an inflammatory marker. The research suggests that Tremella fuciformis polysaccharide may have potential as an anti-inflammatory drug for osteoarthritis. [Extracted from the article] |
