Abstrakt: This article reports the first identification of Tomato fruit blotch virus (ToFBV) infecting tomatoes in Greece. The virus was detected in a tomato sample from Aspropyrgos, Attiki, Greece, using RNA-Seq analysis. Further testing confirmed the presence of ToFBV in tomato fruit samples from a greenhouse in Ierapetra, Crete, and a field in Prokopi, Evia. The virus is associated with fruit blotch disease and is likely transmitted by the tomato russet mite. This discovery suggests a potential risk to tomato cultivation in Greece.
