Abstrakt: A recent study conducted in Bangkok, Thailand, examined the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) among physicians and its association with coronary artery disease (CAD). The study found that 8.9% of Thai physicians had MetS, and those with MetS had a 10-fold higher risk of CAD. Risk factors for MetS included increasing age, high blood pressure, high fasting blood sugar, high triglycerides, and low high-density lipoprotein. The researchers recommend that physicians at risk of developing MetS modify their health habits and be vigilant about the potential consequences of CAD. Further studies are needed to validate these findings. [Extracted from the article]
