A recent study conducted by researchers at Instituto Politecnico de Braganca in Portugal has explored the use of natural nanoemulsions as delivery systems for alpha-tocopherol (Vitamin E) in dermal applications. Nanoemulsions are easily produced using simple methods and compounds from natural sources, and they enhance water dispersibility and bioavailability while optimizing the dispersion of active ingredients in specific skin layers. The study found that the formulated nanoemulsions were highly stable, with droplets of 80-121 nm in size. They also demonstrated the ability to effectively deliver Vitamin E, with permeabilities between 64 and 74 μg/cm2. [Extracted from the article] |
